• Cut a variety of triangles out of various items:

• Seastar (starfish) appendage

• Have the children experience and identify each item using deductive reasoning

• While the hamantashan triangles are baking in the oven, you can sing this song with your child:
  "My hat it has three corners"

  "If it doesn't have three corners"

SOCIAL STUDIES

• Hamantashan are cookies served during a Jewish holiday called Purim
• They are molded into triangles because it is the shape of an historical triangle hat

• Triangle Collage
• Cut pieces of wrapping paper (foil, tissue or construction paper) into the shape of triangles of various sizes
• Let your child collage onto construction paper
