MATH

• Stone Sorting
• Using glass stones or various collection rocks, sort stones according to attributes:
• Large and small
• Smooth and rough
• By colors

• Graphing
• Graph stones by color; size, texture, etc.

• Stone Count
• Supply numbered plastic or styrofoam soup bowls
• Have your child count out the appropriate number of stones into each bowl
• Children can use a soup spoon to help transfer the stones as they count

SCIENCE

• Supply various stones to observe:
• Quartz
• Amethyst
• Tiger's Eye...
• Supply a scale to weigh
• Provide a magnifying glass

LANGUAGE ARTS

• Cold soup is the opposite of hot soup
• Give children a word and let them state the opposite of that word

• Have the child state the difference between fruit and non-fruit items by identifying which doesn't belong.
• "apple", "pear", "truck", "grape", "carrot"
• Which items are not fruit?
• Which items are fruit?

• Expressive Language
• Provide a glittery stone and tell your child,"It is a magic stone."
• Have them make their wish upon the stone

SOCIAL STUDIES

• Discuss the areas where each fruit used in this recipe is grown

ART

• Fruit Bowl Collage
• Cut out fruit pictures from magazines (or cut from colored construction paper)
• Collage paper fruit into a styrofoam bowl

• Pet Rock
• Give your child a stone to decorate:
• Provide googly eyes
• Hair
• Feathers, etc.
